HLB Egypt-Makary Consulting possesses long-track experience in the food and agriculture sectors through conducting a large number of studies to international donors, public institutions, and private companies.
In this respect, the firm conducted the GTI "Tomato Concentrate Roadmap" and "Quality Infrastructure Mapping" projects to UNIDO, an agricultural strategy for the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) in 2014 in order to develop methods that aim at achieving agricultural investment opportunities and food security in the rural/ agricultural sector in Egypt, as well as several market studies to assess the potentiality and/ or competitiveness of different aspects of the food sector in Egypt.
The firm also possesses strong theoretical background in the field through its President, Dr. Samir Makary, who possesses post-graduate degrees in Agricultural Development, and founded and is teaching Agricultural Economics at the American University in Cairo (AUC) on regular basis since 1985. He is also the author of “Agriculture Reform Policy of Egypt” in June 2014, among other publications in the field.
